Arrived at the pilot station 11:15 this morning with her berth being the Rio Tinto jetty, Willem De Vlamingh. The 115 mtr cable laying ship was alongside for about two hours and is currently North of the breakwater light at anchor. Part of the Jan De Nul group of Belgium, this ship is equipped for subsea cable and umbilical installations and in a fleet of four with two more being built they can undertake work worldwide.

Visiting terminal 4 on the 21st August 2016, Shannon Fisher. The 85 mtr oil products tanker belonging to James Fisher & sons departed Antwerp on the 18th August and spent nearly three days at sea before requesting a pilot for her final leg into Holyhead ports outer harbour.

Arrived in to a berth at the marina yesterday, RNLB Edward And Barbara Prigmore. The 16 mtr Tamar class lifeboat, a relief fleet member entered the port at 12:45 and is quite possible to have a scheduled visit to the yard.

Arrived in to a berth at the marina on the 14th August, Seacat Endevour. The 21 mtr windfam support vessel belonging to Seacat Services had an overnight stay before a scheduled visit to the boatyard the next day.

NEW TITLE PICTURE....Fred Olsen cruises Balmoral performing a swing off Holyhead breakwaters spit bouy on the morning of the 24th June 2016.

Two arrivals at the port of Holyhead yesterday. First and berthing at the refit berth Clio, The 100 mtr cruise ship arrived in after an overnight crossing from Dublin. Second, Seajacks Hydra a 76 mtr jack up rig which has made her way here to the Rio Tinto jetty from Great Yarmouth.

Arrived to a berth at the marina at 11:20 today, Njord Petrel. The 19 mtr windfarm support vessel is owned by Njord Offshore, she is a first time visitor to the port and also another part of Njord Offshore windfarm support fleet to have now used Holyhead over the last few weeks.

NEW TITLE PICTURE....Isle of Man Steam packet company's Manannan undergoing berthing trials at Holyhead's Salt island berth in the early hours of the 30th June 2016.

Arrived in to the marina yesterday evening, Janneke. The 15 mtr bed levelling tug belonging to Baggerbedrijf De Boer/Dutch Dredging arrived in for an overnight stopover whilst on route to Liverpool from Milford Haven. Janneke is following in the footsteps of her running mate Kees JR in also having visited the port of Holyhead.

Arrived in to the refit berth this morning from being anchored West of the Lleyn Peninsula and in turn a two days steam from Rotterdam, Deep Helder. The 64 mtr multi purpose survey vessel belonging to DeepOcean was built in 2014 and has facilities to work in many subsea fields while comfortably accomodating up to 50 personnel.

Holyheads first encounter with a Shannon class lifeboat was pictured this morning. Alongside at the marina on an overnight stopover was RNLB Kenneth James Pierpoint, The 13 mtr lifeboat was on route to her new home in Fleetwood after fitting out at Poole in Dorset

Arrived in to the Rio Tinto jetty at 07:45 this morning, Balmoral. The 217 mtr cruise ship belonging to Fred Olsen cruise lines is no stranger to Holyhead having visited many years ago as the Crown Odyssey. The vessel has been named Crown Odyssey twice and also named Norwegian Crown twice, Then on handover in 2007 to her current owners she was then lengthened by 30 metres and is their largest vessel.

A heroic tale from a vessel at the marina today, Pictured this morning alongside at the marina Watson class lifeboat Swn Y Mor. The 46ft former St Davids lifeboat has been in private hands since 1973 and has completed many historic journeys including a circumnavigation of the globe as well as winning numerous awards at traditional sail events. One historic rescue is commemorated onboard with two plaques on either side of the vessel, During November 1956 crewman Ieuan Bateman lost his life on the vessels return after they had rescued all onboard the French trawler Notre Dame de Fatima in distress off Skokholm. Trinity House vessel Patricia pictured this afternoon entering the harbour is a welcome sight not seen for many years. Trinity House had for many years a depot at the marina area and has had many ships in their fleet using the harbour over the years even as far as using the drydock on numerous occasions.

Arrived in to the Rio Tinto jetty at lunchtime today, Hapag Lloyds expedition cruise ship Hanseatic. The 123 mtr vessel, no stranger to Holyhead, headed up the Welsh coast from Avonmouth and after a few passenger excursions is now on route to Greenock after a 18:00 Holyhead departure.
